The Acalanes JV soccer team hosted the Northgate Broncos on Thursday in a match defined by dominant possession and field position. A goal by Kaspar in the first half put the Dons on board early. Following the goal, Northgate attempted to pivot to a more offensive strategy. However, the Acalanes backline remained disciplined and composed. Every Broncos counter-attack was met with a quick response, as the Dons’ defenders effectively neutralized Northgate’s speed and shut down any clean looks at the goal. Despite controlling the tempo for the majority of the game, a stroke of bad luck helped Northgate tie up the match, and the Dons walked away with a 1-1 draw.
