Freshman Boys Soccer Rolls Past Miramonte, Stay Perfect at 7–0

The Acalanes Dons freshman boys made the short trip to Miramonte on Thursday and delivered a statement performance, cruising to a dominant 3–0 win over their cross-town rivals.

From the opening whistle, the Dons set the tone. Just five minutes in, midfielder Jonny Rubin opened the scoring, meeting a perfectly weighted cross from right winger Mason Foster and one timing it past the Miramonte goalkeeper. The goal was an early reminder to all of Acalanes’ attacking sharpness.

The pressure never let up. Late in the first half, chaos in the Miramonte box created an opportunity, and Samuel Chamberlain was in exactly the right place at the right time. He calmly slotted home the rebound to give the Dons a 2–0 lead heading into halftime.

Acalanes came out even stronger in the second half, pinning Miramonte deep in their own end. For long stretches, the home side could not get the ball past midfield. The Dons earned six corners in the half, and when Miramonte did manage a rare push forward, the Acalanes back line held firm and shut the door.

Late in the match, Chamberlain capped his standout performance by slipping a clever through ball between defenders to striker Nick Siewert, who finished for his team-leading 9th goal of the season. Chamberlain was named “Man of the Match” by the coaching staff.

With the win, the Dons remain undefeated at 7–0 and continue to assert themselves as one of the most complete teams in the league.

Acalanes returns home Saturday, January 17, to face College Park. Go Dons!
