JV Boys Soccer – Defense Dominates in 1-1 Tie

Acalanes fans endured a chilly night to watch the JV boys soccer team bring the heat against Archie Williams at home this past Tuesday The Dons got off to a fast start, seizing the momentum in the first ten minutes of play. Guest playing freshman came up huge for the Dons, when Johnny Rubin (#9) put the home team on the scoreboard, capitalizing on a well-placed assist from Mason Foster (#11).

For the remainder of the game, the Acalanes defense proved to be a formidable wall. Mason Hennessy (#12), Jonathan Judson (#16), and Owen Westin (#15) were defensive standouts, effectively outrunning and neutralizing every offensive threat from the opponents. Goalkeeper Gino Rubio also rose to the occasion, making a spectacular save in a crucial one-on-one situation to maintain the shutout.

However, in the final minutes, an unlucky handball call awarded Archie Williams a penalty kick. While the keeper made an incredible initial stop on the PK, the ball rebounded, allowing the opposing team to quickly score on the second chance. The game concluded in a hard-fought tie of 1-1, a result that belied the defensive dominance of the Dons throughout the match.
