Varsity Girls Tennis falls to Rival Campo

The Varsity Girls Tennis team continued the road trip on Wednesday afternoon, taking on rival Campo after the rain caused the matches to be postponed. Although the team lost by what appeared to be a lopsided score 9-0, the Dons lost a couple very close matches in tiebreakers. In addition, the #2 singles player on the Dons, Aamena Shipchandler, was not able to attend, which means that Lines 3-6 singles all had to play up one level.

On the singles side, Elisabetta Sokolova lost 6-3, 6-1, Grace Colaco lost 6-0, 6-3 at Line 2, Emily Roberts lost 6-0, 6-2 at Line 3, Audrey Tseng lost 6-3, 7-6 at Line 4. At line 5, Jasmine Taylor, who was named player of the match, won the first set 7-5, lost the second set 6-0, but fought back to narrowly lose the tiebreaker 11-9 tiebreaker. Emery Stern lost 7-5, 6-0 at Line 6.

In doubles, the Line 1 team of Lauren Foster and Ridhi Patel narrowly lost 6-2, 4-6, and 10-8 in the tiebreaker. At Line 2, Sadie Moise and Delphine Fisher lost 6-2, 6-2, and Riley Zirkel and Hetty Lofting lost 6-4, 6-0 at Line 3. In the extended matches, Molly Jones and Tatum Duff lost 8-7, and Audrey Parkin and Elouise Kubas lost 8-5.

The girls return home in a rematch against Las Lomas on Thursday, October 16 @ 4pm
