The Varsity Girls Tennis participated in the DAL Tournament on Tuesday at Northgate high school, taking on opponents from a number of different local schools including Northgate, Miramonte, Campolindo, Las Lomas, and College Park in a single elimination single pro-set style tournament. The girls played well compared to the past two years, increasing the number of players who won their first round matches.

In singles, Emery Stern, Jasmine Taylor, and Aamena Shipchandler all won their first round matches.  Elisabetta Sokolova tied her first round match 8-8 vs a player from Las Lomas, but then lost the tiebreaker.  Aamena and Jasmine had to face each other in the second round, which Aamena won.  Emery Stern lost her 2nd round match to a top player from Campolindo. Aamena advanced to the quarterfinals where she had to face the #1 seed in the tournament, and she lost in straight sets.

In doubles, Emily Roberts and Grace Colaco, Lauren Andersen and Maddie Obertello won their first round matches but both lost in the second round.

In all league voting, Elisabetta, Lauren Foster and Ridhi Patel were named to the second teams for singles and doubles respectively. Aamena won honorary mention for singles.
