The Lady Dons and Coach Steve Nelsen hit the road for a five-and-a-half-hour trip to Arcata, California to compete in the NCS Division 2 Tournament on Monday, October 27. Braving the cold, wind, and a frost-covered course, the team demonstrated remarkable heart and determination. While the final scores didn’t fall their way, the Lady Dons made a strong statement — Acalanes Girls Golf is a rising force in California high school golf.
This season has been nothing short of remarkable. With multiple tournament wins and a third-place finish in DAL play, the program has proven it’s built on talent, teamwork, and tenacity. Under the steady leadership of Coaches Erin Field and Steve Nelsen, the Lady Dons have firmly established themselves as contenders for years to come.
Senior captains Jordan Huskins and Taylor Baker led the charge at NCS, modeling teamwork and dedication while fostering a culture that put the team first. Together with Junior Miracle Gu, Sophomore CiCi Ning, and Freshman Cameron Koch, they competed with grit and perseverance throughout the 5.5-hour tournament.
With just three seniors graduating from a 16-player roster, the future is shining bright for the Acalanes Girls Golf Team!
Congratulations on an incredible season — you’ve made your school proud and embodied what it means to FEAR THE BLUE! Go Dons!
