While fall temperatures drop, the girls JV tennis team keeps turning up the heat! After two big wins against Campolindo and Las Lomas, the team closed out the week with an impressive seven match winning streak against league opponents.
A rain delay on Tuesday pushed the Campo match to Wednesday, when we edged out Campolindo 5-4 in a nail-biter on our home court—particularly impressive given Campo’s strong reputation. The team then traveled to Las Lomas on Thursday night and dominated with a commanding 9-0 sweep.



Match Highlights: Campo
In the thrilling 5-4 victory, every point mattered. The singles players came through strong, winning 4 of 5 matches:
- Alessa Smith, 5-8
- Phoebe LaBonge, 8-5
- Averly Ammerman, 8-1
- Kennedy Wilson, 9-8 (8-6) — won in a tiebreaker!
- Carissa Penn, 8-5
Doubles play was more challenging. Gemma Satterfield and Lotta Griemens at Line 1 fell 5-8. Ava Bell and Parker Ivory at Line 2 fell 2-8, and Avery Marshall and Daisy Carysforth at Line 3 fell 5-8. The deciding match came down to Riya Patel and Brook Lewis at Line 4, who won 8-5, ensuring the team victory. Additional doubles results: *Rory Jackson and Quinn Curley at Line 5 fell 4-8, *Casey Eun and Sara Tsang at Line 6 fell 4-8, and *Lulu Lancour and Sera Gundogdu at Line 7 won 8-2.
Match Highlights: Las Lomas
Against Las Lomas on Thursday, we swept all three singles lines: Phoebe LaBonge (8-2), Averly Ammerman (8-5), and Kennedy Wilson (8-5).
The doubles teams were equally impressive. Gemma Satterfield and Lotta Griemens prevailed 8-4 at Line 1, while Ava Bell and Parker Ivory at Line 2 came back to win in a tiebreaker 9-8 (7-3)—especially gratifying since they’d lost to the same players 7-9 just a week earlier.
Despite some lineup adjustments due to illness, the chemistry between all partners was evident as they controlled the net and executed precise volleys:

With seven consecutive victories under their belts, the team is building serious momentum heading into the final week of the season. This week the team takes on Northgate and College Park and then wraps up the season at the Freedom Invitational on Saturday, October 25th.
