Come Watch Freshman Football Take on Miramonte Today at 5:00 p.m…BUT FIRST… a Review of Last Week’s Win Against Benicia!

If anyone is looking for waterfront property with gorgeous sunset views over the SF Bay, look no further than the visitor stands at Benicia High School! Not a bad place to watch a game, especially when the Dons walked away with a 27-7 win on the road.

Both teams started the game trading turnovers on downs, but the Dons changed the tempo when they recovered the ball on the 5 yard line and quickly found the end zone with a pass from #9 Will Feinstein to #18 Jake Mikalis. Dons led 6-0.

On the very next possession, Mikalis intercepted the ball and ran it all the way back to the end zone for a pick six!!! #17 Mateo Valenzuela had the two point conversion putting the Dons ahead 14-0.

#6 Zenai Kaplanes-Jones was the receiver on the Dons next TOUCHDOWN pass!!!  Dons led 20-0. Feinstein made the extra point for a 21-0 lead. This possession also had a huge run by #4 Leland Stone, a pass to Valenzuela for a 9 yard gain, a short run by Leland for a first down, and a 20 yard pass to #16 Eli La Rotonda for a first down,

#50 Reece Caicedo had a fumble recovery on Benicia’s next possession, giving the Dons the ball on the 50 yard line and one more opportunity to score before the end of the first half. Aaaand score they would! A touchdown pass to Valenzuela put the Dons ahead a whopping 27-0 at the half.
