Varsity Girls Tennis Falls 8-1 vs Rival Campolindo

The Varsity Girls Tennis team continued their homestand Thursday afternoon, taking on rival Campolindo High School. Similar to the Miramonte contest, the team fought hard but ultimately fell 8-1.

On the singles side, Elisabetta Sokolova lost 6-2, 6-3 at Line 1 against one of the top singles players in the league and was named one of the players of the match. Aamena Shiplandler put up a good fight at Line 2, but came up just short in a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 tiebreak thriller. Grace Colaco lost 6-2, 6-0 at Line 3, Emily Roberts lost 2-6, 6-2 and 10-5 in the tiebreaker at Line 4, Audrey Tseng lost at Line 5, and Jasmine Taylor lost 6-0, 6-1. Emery Stern won the extended match 6-2.

On the doubles side, Lauren Foster and Ridhi Patel lost 6-2, 6-2 at Line 1, and Hetty Lofting and Riley Zirkel lost 6-2, 7-5 at Line 3. Sadie Moise and Grace Britto were the only winners on the day, coming back from losing the first set 2-6 to win the second set 6-3 and the tiebreaker 10-5. They were also named players of the match. In the extended match, Lauren Anderson and Maddie Obertello narrowly were defeated 8-6.
