The JV Girls Tennis team completed their final pre-season match tonight with a strong win against Piedmont. It was a beautiful afternoon to head through the tunnel, with bright and cloudy skies and almost chilly temps. The girls had plenty of time for homework and to check out the cozy Mulberry Market up the street between sets, as their were only four courts and so downtime was plentiful.

Singles players delivered strong performances across the lineup this week. Phoebe won 6-1, Alessa won 6-2, and Averly battled through one of the most competitive matches, ultimately winning 7-5. Kennedy won 6-2, Carissa won 6-2, and Avery capped off the singles sweep with a dominant 6-0.
The doubles pairings saw some strategic reshuffling this week and responded brilliantly: the Gemma and Lotta tandem stayed at Line 1 and took their match 6-2 with strong net play. Daisy was joined by Livvy at Line 2 and they easily took their match 6-2. Ava and Parker clicked immediately at Line 3 winning 6-2. Quinn and Riya faced the toughest match of the day at Line 4, ultimately winning 7-6 after an intense tie-breaker. The team was rounded out by Lulu and Kennedy at Line 5 who won 6-2, Rory and Sara at Line 6 winning 6-3 and Sera and Casey at Line 7 falling 2-6.

Come watch the girls play next Tuesday at Miramonte and Thursday at Campo. Let’s go Don’s!
