Girls JV Tennis officially kicked off their 2025 season playing Bishop O’Dowd on Monday, August 25th. While the returning juniors and sophomores were excited to be back on the courts, the freshmen and some new upper classman deserve a shout-out for stepping up in their first high school match.
Despite having completed only four team practices this season, the singles players dominated with a clean sweep:
- Line 1: Kennedy Wilson (8-2 win)
- Line 2: Alessa Smith (8-4 win)
- Line 3: Averly Ammerman (8-1 win)
- Line 4: Phoebe LaBonge (8-3 win)
- Line 5: Carissa Penn (8-3 win)
- Line 6: Avery Marshall (8-0 win)

The doubles teams also delivered strong performances across the board. Returning sophomores Parker Ivory and Daisy Carysforth at Line 1 had a hard-fought match, ultimately falling to O’Dowd 7-9 after a marathon set. Gemma Satterfield and Lotta Griemens secured a victory at Line 2 (8-6 win), while Ava Bell and Livvy Lewis dominated at Line 3 (8-2 win).
Lulu Lancour and Brooke Lewis at Line 4 battled through to take the match in overtime with a thrilling 9-8 victory. The remaining doubles teams of Quinn Curley and Riya Patel (Line 5), Sera Gundogdu and Rory Jackson (Line 6), and Sara Tsang and Casey Eun (Line 7) rounded out the lineup.
The team is excited to welcome back Coach Gary Giammengo as head coach this year, with Lee Ann Gove serving as assistant coach.
