Freshman Football Falls to a Highly Disciplined San Marin

The freshman Dons faced San Marin yesterday and were shut out by their opponents in the season opener. Despite the tough loss, families and friends filled the stands to support the boys and cheered until the bitter end.

#7 Luke Kelly and #9 Will Feinstein shared the quarterback role. Kelly had some great carries, a run for a first down and two tackles on defense.

Feinstein also served as the Dons kicker and executed great punts and kickoffs for the team.

The dons offense was led by # 17 Mateo Valenzuela, # 4 Lelan Stone, # 2 Jayden Lifson and #18 Jake Mikalis.

It was a true team effort on defense and tackles were made by the following players in an attempt to stop San Marin: #4 Lelan Stone (4 tackles and a blocked extra point); #18 Jake Mikalis (2 tackles and a sack for a huge loss); # 2 Jayden Lifson (2 tackles); #17 Mateo Valenzuela (2 tackles); #64 Aiden Jeffery (2 tackles a tackle for loss and a blocked extra point); #62 Beau Tandler; #70 Brecken Roberts; #50 Reese Caicedo; #78 Kanishka Giridhar; #47 Stone Jaquet and #27 Kellan Middleton.
