The varsity softball squad made the long drive down Ygnacio Valley Road to play the loaded Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles on Tuesday, in Concord. They lost to the first place Eagles 11-1. CVC is currently the #8 ranked Division 1 team in the North Coast Section. The loss dropped the Dons record to 9-6.
Junior Maya Shoenhair started in the circle. She was relieved by sophomore Margaux Stone who went 5 1/3 innings, giving up 6 runs and recording 2 strikeouts.
Senior center fielder Emme Young had a hit and a stolen base. Sophomore shortstop Santana Tamayo had a hit and a run batted in and junior right fielder Lauren Foster also had a hit.
Sophomore Ella Greenfield got a start at third base.
The girls take on the College Park Falcons today at 4:30pm at home. Come out and see them start a winning streak today. Go Dons!
