Our Meet of Champions qualifiers represented the Dons very well at the blustery event Friday and Saturday in Dublin.  When the dust settled, the boys team placed 7th out of 39 competing North Coast Section teams and the girls 16th place.  Both teams winning the Lamorinda championship over those other two schools in our district.

The top 3 finishers in each event qualified for the state championships next week in Clovis, which were:

Deonte Littlejohn-with the Dons best finish, 2nd place in the discus

Dulci Vail-high jump with a 3rd place finish

Boys 4×400 relay team (Ben Mickelson, Matt Schwarz, Julian Hood, River Lockwood)–with an improbable 3rd place finish against incredible competition in the last event of the evening in an ACA 7th best 3:24.75!

Girls Unified 4×100 relay team (Malory Decredico, Alyvia DeCredico, Asha Sekhon and Sylvie Merrill)–2nd place

Also on the podium for the Dons were (top 6 finishers):

Haley Chelemedos–4th in the long jump, 5th in the high jump

Bethel Imasuen--4th in the shotput

River Lockwood–4th in the 300 meter hurdles

Just off the podium, running in the 4×100 finals for the first time in 8 years, was the girls team of Sophie Chinn, Haley Chelemedos, Cameron Thornton and Isabelle Agnost who took 8th place and recorded their 5th consecutive sub 50 second run! 

Good luck Dons next week at State!  We will all see Dulci on the graduation stage instead of the state stadium, so will have an all boys representation this year.
