Track Excels at DAL Championships/Records Broken!

The boys and girls teams represented very well at the 2-day DAL Championships which concluded Saturday in Moraga.  The boys finished T2 and the girls #4 (of 12 competing teams).

A number of Acalanes top 10 records were achieved over the two days, including:

  • The Girls 4×100 Relay Team’s (Sophie Chinn, Haley Chelemedos, Olivia Kemp, Isabelle Agnost) win in a blazing 49.19 good for third on the record board, edging out the prior 3rd place record holders from 1980!
  • Sophie Chinn moving up the board to #4 with a 5th place finish in the 100 meters (12.57) and freshman Isabelle Agnost to #6 with a 7th place finish in the same race (12.68)
  • River Lockwood moving up the record board to #4 in the 300 hurdles with a win (40.44)
  • Illias Kaplanes-Jones moving up the record board to #7 with a 2nd place finish in the 100 meters (11.03) and moving to #9 in the 200 meters with a 4th place finish (22.55)
  • Haley Chelemedos moving up the board to #7 with a 4th place finish in the 200 meters (26.08)
  • Benjamin Mickelson’s Frosh Soph record in the 400 (50.66) and a 4th place finish
  • Isabelle Agnost Frosh Soph record in the 100
  • Dulci Vail and Haley Chelemedos matching the 5th place record in the high jump (5’2″), their 4th consecutive year of elite performance in the DAL high jump 

All of our Don’s athletes had incredible performances on the track.  The top 6 in each event moving on to NCS championships next week which some incredible multi-event performances by a number of our athletes.
