Boys Lacrosse Falls to De La Salle in Season Finale

Your Acalanes Dons capped off a terrific lacrosse season with a lop-sided loss to De La Salle.  The boys entered the game with a stellar 14-3 record which earned them a place in the top division of the NCS playoffs—a great accomplishment for a team who won only 3 games last season. But De La Salle, a perennial powerhouse and NCS favorite, proved too tough a draw for the Dons in this first round of the playoffs. The Spartans fast-paced offense and suffocating defense shut down the Dons.

One thing is for certain, nothing about this game reflected who the Dons were this season. This was a well-coached, smart, and talented team with a bright future. The Dons resiliency after a tough season last year is something to take great pride in. And no doubt about it, this is a program that’s on the way up. Congratulations to coach Nate Welcomer and his staff on his second season with the Dons. They have laid a strong foundation—and the results speak for themselves. It was a fun season to be a Dons fan.

Best of luck to all the graduating seniors. We can’t wait to see the rest of the boy’s back next year.

ACA blue, baby! Dons forever.
