AHS Swim Team Finishes Strong – DAL Finals on Saturday 5/3

It was a cold morning at Campo as swimmers from across the league gathered for the DAL Finals! The meet started off well with a 4th place finish for the Girls Medley Relay and an 8th place finish for the boys team. 

Avery Tanimura finished 18th overall in the 200 Free with a seasons best time of 2:08.94. Braden Dunton took 15th in the boys race, with Andrew Tanimura finishing 20th and Gavin Barclay in 22nd. 

Malin Stone finished 7th in the 200 IM with a seasons best time of 2:17.53 (NCS Cons). Anna Motes was 8th, and Lily Briones finished in 14th. Mason Schlehr finished 11th in the boys race, while Owen Andre finished 24th. 

Lucy McShane finished 20th in the 50 Free with a seasons best 26.48! Sara Williams finished 21st, Ellie Budke was 22nd with her seasons best time of 26.96 and Jess Gerhardt was 24th. Jace Carter and Wilson Daughters finished 20th and 23rd in the boys race. 

Tess Veronda finished 23rd in the 100 Fly, and Ryan Gerhardt finished 23rd as well with a seasons best 1:01.66.  Owen Andre was 24th. 

In the 100 Free, Sadie Suppiger finished 2nd overall by 0.04 in a new PR of 52.01 – she has improved her #5 spot on the all-time list twice now – formerly 52.28, she swam 52.20 in prelims and then 52.01 in finals. Way to go Sadie!  Sara Williams, Lily Briones and Jess Gerhardt finished 19th, 22nd and 23rd. Gavin Barclay finished in 20th and Jace Carter was 23rd in the boys race. 

Avery Tanimura finished 15th overall in the girls 500 Free. Braden Dunton finished in 14th, and Andrew Tanimura finished 16th in the boys race. 

The 200 Free Relay teams did well, finishing 5th (girls) and 7th (boys) overall, both with NCS Consideration times! 

In the 100 Back, Sadie Suppiger finished 2nd overall with a seasons best time of 57.20 – an NCS Automatic time by over 2 seconds!  Malin Stone finished 9th with a huge time pop – dropping over two seconds to secure her spot at #9 on the AHS All-Time List! Her time was 1:00.72. Tess Veronda finished in 16th. Mason Schlehr finished 11th overall with a seasons best time of 56.75 – an NCS Cons time!  Dane Schurhoff finished 24th. 

Anna Motes finished 6th overall in the 100 breast.  Jayden Hwang finished 20th in the boys race. 

The Girls 400 Free Relay team finished 6th overall, and the Boys team finished in 9th.
