Girls JV Lacrosse Tops Miramonte 13 – 7

This past Friday night, our fun, fierce, fantastic players conquered the Mats in their own house for another W.

Buoyed by the energy of their Senior Night (complete with green balloon arches galore), the Mats came out fighting. It was a solid contest as the teams went head to head up to a 6-6 tie. But that was where the Dons turned it on and went on an unanswered 7-score run. The Mats managed one last goal at the end, but it wasn’t nearly enough to topple this remarkable team. Stats upcoming, but it’s important to note that – as is typical for this team – the collective effort, positivity, support, and enthusiasm of every last one of our players contributed to this achievement. It’s a joy to watch this machine in motion.

Chloe Lloyd (#65) – 2 saves
Perseph Quine (#76) – 3 saves
Cate Mercier (#16) – 10 shots on goal; 6 goals; 1 assist
Ella Culbertson (#42) – 4 shots on goal; 3 goals; 1 assist; 9 draw controls; 3 loose balls controlled
Allie Schofield (#46) – 4 shots on goal; 1 goal; two assists; 2 draw controls; 5 loose balls controlled
Svea Staino (#52) – 2 shots on goal; 2 goals; 1 assist; 2 draw controls
Samantha Swift (#34) – 1 shot on goal; 1 goal; two assists; 1 loose ball controlled
Stella DeGroot (#27) – 1 shot on goal; 1 loose ball controlled
Ruby Bogan (#51) – 4 loose balls controlled
Savannah Martinez (#29) – 2 loose balls controlled
Eloise Greeson (#39) – 1 loose ball controlled
Molly Jones (#48) – 1 loose ball controlled

As mentioned, none of this would have been possible without the effective and consistent scaffolding of every last player on the field – Maddie Obertello (#2), Mic Barbano (#14), Bea Deignan (#73), Julia Lyons (#36, always the fastest out there), Chloe Vignoles (#71, so much hustle and fight), Lexi Chaput (#24), and Avila Payne (#72). And the dynamic goalie duo of Persephone and Chloe always has this team’s back with their brave and essential defense.

This week the Dons take on College Park, Clayton Valley, Northgate, AND Campo. Come out to see this fine group of athletes in action and cheer on the close of a storybook season!

Goooooooo DONS!
