Boys Track beats Campo, Girls break the 50-second barrier in 4×100

The Boys track team handily beat the Cougars 83-51 Wednesday, at the last home meet of the year, and while the girls team came up short, the 4×100 relay team of Sophie Chinn, Haley Chelemedos, Cameron Thornton and Isabelle Agnost won vs. the #1 seeded DAL Campo team and broke the 50-second barrier in the 4×100 at 49.80 seconds, a feat not achieved at Acalanes for 8 years (and the team now holds the #9 time in ACA school history).

As always with our track team, a number of great performances, season bests, personal records and some sweeps…the 4x100s, the boys 100 and 200, the boys pole vault and the girls high jump.

Highlights for the day included multi-event scorers:

Illias Kaplanes Jones dual wins in the 100 & 200 and second in the long jump

Haley Chelemedos dual wins in the 200 and long jump and second in the high jump

River Lockwood dual wins in the 400 and 300 hurdles

Harry Zimmerman win in the 1600 and second in the 800

Bethel Imasuen win in the shotput and second in the discus

Deonte Littlejohn win the discuss and second in the shotput

Miles Moore win the in pole vault and third in the triple jump

Cameron Thornton 2nd in the 200 and 400

Matthew Schwarz 2nd in the 100 & 200

Jackson Boselli 3rd in the 100 & 200…completing the sweep

– Isabelle Agnost 3rd in the 100 and 3rd in the long jump (with a big PR freshman jump of 16’6″)

Yanina Galavach 2nd in the 100 hurdles and third in the 300 hurdles

Other point winners for the boys included:  Josh Ellert‘s win in the long jump, Landon Deily‘s win in the high jump, Benjamin Mickelson second in the 400, Grant Ricker second in the triple jump, Sameed Marco 2nd in the high jump, and Casey Lopez third in the pole vault and other point winners for the girls were: Dulci Vail win in the high jump, Lesley Trowbridge win the triple jump, Sophie Chinn second in the 100, Amari Hollins second in the shotput, Neve Murphy second in the 3200, Anju Sekhon second in the 800, Cameron Powell third in the 3200 and Mackenzie Siewart third in the discus.
