On a frigid and windy Wednesday afternoon, with extra support from Mr. Shawn in attendance, the tracksters tore up the track, setting a virtual barrage of PRs and top finishes across events. Ultimately outscored by the depth of Knight’s teams, nobody seemed to care as our athletes were incredible.
The girls team started the winning with a victory in the 4×100 with a very fast, 2nd in DAL season best, 50.40 second time. The relay was led off by senior Sophie Chinn, #2 leg speedy freshman Isabelle Agnost, #3 leg (also) speedy freshman Olivia Kemp with senior Haley Chelemedos closing the door on the Knights in Leg #4.
The boys team #1 (Illias Kaplanes Jones, Matthew Schwarz, Jackson Boselli, River Lockwood) improved their #1 DAL time to 43.41 and the boys team #2 (Luca Oatham, Benjamin Mickelson, Chris Copeland and Finley Rivera) took second with a 44.02, just off of the Acalanes top 10 record, with a second best DAL time. Pretty unique to have two teams with that much speed. Liking the relays, the boys also won the 4×400 in a season best 3:35 (Julian Hood, Bryan Lurie, Harry Zimmerman and River Lockwood)
As the day unfolded the boys saw incredible performance by a number of athletes, including:
River Lockwood–Winning the 300m hurdles in a PR, DAL #1, 41.66 and second in the 100M hurdles in a 2nd in DAL 16.72. With the relays, an 18 point day, 2 points away from perfection.
Bethel Imasuen–Winning the shotput with a PR 43’3 and 2nd in the discus with a PR 118’4
Deonte Littlejohn–Winning the discuss with a 155’10” toss and 2nd in the shotput with a 43’1 throw
