Boys Gold Shows Up

Last week was a great week for boys golf. The top 6 varsity players had a match at Rossmoor against Bentley on Wednesday.  While Bentley was missing some of its top players, it may not have made a difference as the Dons showed up big time. The final team score was 150-199. The 4 individual scores that counted include Rocco Stassi with a second straight sub-par round (leading all scorers with a 2-under 33), Grant Gebhardt remained strong with a 38, followed by Brody Greenfield with a 39 and Naveen Ahuja with a 40.

Meanwhile, 8 other Dons were up before the sun as they traveled to the Bridges in San Ramon for an all-day tournament on a very difficult golf course (read…narrow and hilly).  The Dons proved up to the challenge, however, shooting a score of 430 that saw the team place 5th out of 16 schools.

On the individual side, Krish Veluthakkal (Fr) shot a 4-over 76 to finish 4th out of 118 players.  Isaac Topp (84), Durham Vail (88), Anthony Mullin (90), and Owen Curley (92) rounded out the scoring for the Dons.

With no rest for the weary, The JV boys went right back to work Friday with a home match at Rossmoor against Northgate. Leading scores for ACA were Ryan Weilbach (40), Owen Curley (41), and Anthony Mullin (45) as the Dons beat Northgate 219-276.
