Acalanes Boys Golf started last week with an extremely close match against Athenian. Unfortunately, the Dons were on the losing side of the scorecard with the final score of 190-192. Low scores for the Dons were Naveen Ahuja (So) with a 34 on a par 25 and Krish Veluthakkal (Fr) with a 37.

Bouncing back from last week’s loss, the Dons walked away with a great win against Albany High on Monday, outscoring Albany by 41 strokes for a final score of 194-237. The Dons’ final score of 194 beats their own best team score at Contra Costa Country Club from last year!

Starting leaders for Acalnes on Monday were Rocco Stacci (So) with a 1-under 35, Grant Gebhardt (So) and Brody Greenfield (Sr) each with a 38 and Naveen Ahuja (So) with a 40. Krish Veluthakkal (Fr) and Isaac Topp (So) also had a stong showing to help the Dons win the match.

Next up for Varsity Golf is an away match Tuesday against Foothill at Castlewood Country Club, followed by a home match at Rossmoore on Wednesday against Bentley. Junior Varsity starts play on Wednesday with a tournament at the Bridges in San Ramon.
