The Dons’ second swim meet of the season took place on Tuesday, 3/11. It was a lovely afternoon with an extra hour of sunshine thanks to the time change!
Northgate is a very large and very strong swim team, but there were still plenty of great swims by the Dons! To start things off, Sadie Suppiger, Anna Motes, Tess Veronda and Adelyn Horciza swam a killer 200 Medley, earning an NCS Automatic time!
Mave McAlister had a 3 second pop in the JV 200 free, and Ella Del Rosario finished 2nd in the Varsity race. Sara Williams was 5th.
Indy Perry won the 100 IM for the JV Girls, and Lily Briones had a huge 4 second pop in the 200 IM for the Varsity girls!
Kelsey Gunderson finished 2nd in the 50 free, and Indi Perry was 4th. Lachlan Tidd finished 2nd for the boys. On the varsity side, Anna Motes and Malin Stone finished 2nd and 3rd.
Malin Stone was also 2nd in the 100 Fly, while Mason Schlehr finished 3rd in the boys race.
Sadie Suppiger won the 100 Free, swimming an NCS Automatic time of 53.11. Ella Del Rosario was 3rd. Braden Dunton was 3rd for the boys.
Kelsey Gunderson was 2nd in the JV 500 Free, and Emi Kuniyoshi was 3rd – popping by 16 seconds! Olivia Whipple and Avery Tanimura finished 2nd and 3rd in the varsity race. Andrew Tanimura was second for the boys!
In the 200 Free Relays, two of the three varsity teams swam an NCS Consideration time – Ella Del Rosario, Audrey Tseng, Adelyn Horciza and Siena La Rotonda finished 2nd while Sara Williams, Nina Bundy, Sadie Hendrickson and Addie Dankworth finished 5th.
Ella Schlehr dropped 4 sec in the JV 100 Back, and Mave McAlister dropped 11 seconds! Lachlan Tidd won the JV boys 100 back! Sadie Suppiger won the varsity race in another NCS Automatic time of 59.11. Mason Schlehr was 2nd in the varsity boys race.
Henry Dreyer dropped nearly 5 seconds in his 2nd place finish in the JV 100 Breast race. Anna Motes and Audrey Martin went 1-2 in the varsity girls race. Jayden Hwang popped 2.5 seconds, finishing 5th for the varsity boys.
Both boys and girls teams went NCS Consideration times in the 400 Free Relay! Sadie Suppiger, Malin Stone, Ella Del Rosario and Tess Veronda swam hard and fast for the girls, and Andrew Tanimura, Max Musch, Gavin Barclay and Mason Schlehr did it for the boys!
We are currently down in Mission Viejo getting ready for the big Mission Viejo Invitational tomorrow (Saturday 3/15)! The De La Salle Invitational was today (3/14) – look for those recaps in the next couple of days!
