Varsity Girls Lacrosse Dominates Bishop O’Dowd in 20-7 Victory

The Acalanes Girls Lacrosse team delivered a dominant performance at home, defeating Bishop O’Dowd 20-7 in a display of skill, teamwork, and determination. The victory was a testament to the team’s growing chemistry, which was evident throughout the game as players connected on offense and played with relentless energy on defense. A balanced attack and a stellar performance in all areas of the field gave Acalanes a commanding win, solidifying their momentum as the season progresses.

Top goal-scorers Grace Colaco and Emily Roberts each netted four goals, while Megan Churchill added a hat trick, scoring three goals of her own. Campbell Evans, Luca DeBiasse, and Maya Stafford contributed two goals apiece, and Stella Hamilton, Christina Hageboeck, and Taylor Mikalis each found the back of the net once.

Colaco not only impressed with her scoring but also demonstrated playmaking ability, tallying three assists, while Churchill followed closely with two assists. Evans, Hageboeck, Charlotte Gellman, Reese Imrie, Kate Beaver, and Stafford each chipped in with one assist, emphasizing the collective effort on offense. Colaco’s dominance was felt on the draw circle as well, controlling a remarkable eight draws. Stafford secured four, while Hamilton and Mikalis each grabbed three. Cat Liu and Imrie added two draw controls, continuing the team’s exceptional effort in possession.

On the defensive end, the Acalanes squad was rock-solid, limiting the Bishop O’Dowd Dragons to only seven goals. Claire Zimmerman led the defense with an exceptional performance, while Reese Tierney, Reese Westphal, Edie Berzansky, Addie McShane, and Kate Uffleman all provided crucial hustle and support. Goalie Sarah Hession was outstanding in net, racking up six saves to help preserve the dominant win.

The Dons unselfish play and commitment to each other were on full display, ensuring this victory was as much about teamwork as it was about individual talent. Recent team bonding activities have helped strengthen their unity, and it’s clear that this connection played a key role in their success.
