In their second match up against the Las Lomas Knights, the Dons worked hard to keep up with a quick and aggressive opponent. Despite some amazing goalie saves, the Knights relentless offense resulted in 2 goals early in the first half. A penalty kick by JP Birdwell (#11) found the back of the net, just before the end of the half, bringing the score to 1-2. Calvin Loi (#17) and Isaiah Castillo (#14) battled for control in the midfield hoping to create scoring chances to keep up with the 3 additional Las Lomas goals in the second half. A few late shots by Grant Cortez (#8) gave the Don’s some hope of closing the scoring gap, but the Knights ultimately prevailed 1 – 5. Come cheer the boys on Saturday at HOME vs. Emerald High!
