Acalanes High School’s Dons Rugby Club bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to De La Salle in emphatic fashion, shutting out Liberty High School 90-0 on a sunny and dry Saturday afternoon at Acalanes. From the opening whistle, the Dons asserted dominance, running in try after try with clinical execution and relentless intensity.
Freshman hooker Joe Wilson, sporting freshly bleached hair, was named Man of the Match, carrying the ball with reckless abandon and powering through defenders. Back of the Match honors went to sophomore scrumhalf Will Miller, who kept Liberty’s defense on their toes, scoring two sneaky tries around the breakdown. The Forward of the Match, senior flanker Brody Greenfield, made an immediate impact as the team’s newest recruit, leading the pack with aggressive tackling and strong carries.
Sophomore wing Camden Sinha impressed in his rookie season, crossing the line twice in the corner with blistering pace. A special mention goes to junior lock Jackson “Jazz-man” Crinnion, who arrived at halftime straight from a concert, still in his tuxedo, and managed to score two tries—including the final try of the match.
It was a statement performance for the Dons, who now look ahead with confidence to their next challenge.
