Varsity Boys Soccer face off with Northgate

On another cold night, the Dons faced off against the Broncos on their home turf. Unfortunately, after 80 minutes of play, the Dons were unable to tame the Broncos. The match started with the Dons fending off two early shots on goal in the first 10 minutes. However, for the next 30 minutes, the Dons controlled the game, registering two shots and six shots on goal. Despite the pressure, the first half ended without either team scoring. The second half started with the Dons maintaining their dominance, and it didn’t take long before Ben Pecci found the back of the Broncos’ net, giving the Dons a 1-0 lead. But just 15 minutes later, the Broncos capitalized on a corner kick, leveling the score at 1-1. In the final 20 minutes, both teams struggled with possession, but with just two minutes remaining, the Broncos launched a powerful long ball that ultimately found its way into the Dons’ net, final score of Dons 1, Broncos 2. The boys have 3 games at HOME this week: Tues, 7:15 vs. Mt. Diablo, Thurs, 7:15 vs. Las Lomas, Sat 5pm vs. Richmond.
