At Thursday’s game at Northgate, the Acalanes Frosh boys came out hot, and managed to go up 2 – 0 on the Broncos, thanks to early goals by #6 Owen Westen and #4 Santi Felix. Northgate managed a goal before the end of the half, despite strong defensive work from  #18 Pedro Sakaguti. The Broncos charged out in the second half with more aggression and increased ball control. Mason Hennessey’s (#12) speed in the backfield was a critical factor in stopping a lot of Bronco breakaways attacks, and goalie Luca Ginocchio made some fantastic saves, as Northgate continued to fire shots at goal. Shout out to #13, Marcus Yakaitis for using his head (literally) to stop a goal! Despite their hard work, Dons ended with a close loss of 2 – 3 at the final whistle.
