Girls Golfers Beat Campo on Senior Night!

Led by the dominant senior trio of Hana and Haley Chelemedos (4 year varsity players) and Campbell Evans (2 year varsity player), the Lady Don golfers ALL showed up strong for senior night, beating the Cougs 238-245 at Contra Costa Country Club and improving their record to 4-4 for the year with one remaining match v. Las Lomas and then the DAL Championships.

The senior trio were helped with great afternoons from juniors Grace Wolpert and Taylor Baker and sophomore Miracle Gu.  Junior Jordan Huskins hosted our junior varsity standout players, Cici Ning and Clare Wolpert.  Grace, Taylor, Miracle and Jordan all recorded personal bests at Contra Costa Country Club on the heated Monday afternoon.

Our seniors were celebrated after the match for being amazing and for playing outstanding Lady Don golf and setting records that will be hard to beat over their two and four years respectively, including:

  • A combined four year record of 26 wins, 11 losses (prior to the freshman year of these seniors, the Dons had not won a golf match in 6 years)
  • A recent history unprecedented 3 consecutive invitations to the North Coast Section Championship (and likely a 4th this year)
  • 9th place finish in North Coast Section (2022)
  • New course records at Contra Costa Country Club, 225 back nine and 227 front nine (in the 2022 season in back-to-back weeks)
  • 3-0 vs. College Park, who has been undefeated in the DAL valley division for six years running
  • 3-0 vs. Northgate in the NCS tournament
  • All three seniors are all-league honorees.  100%.

Way to go Seniors!
