Following a tough shut out loss to Amador Valley on the road the previous week, the JV Dons showed up huge in Benicia last Friday night and beat the Panthers 35-12.
Offensive Player of the Game #18 Max Trexler takes the snap before passing to #3 Grant Condy, who scored a 29-yard touchdown putting the Dons ahead 6-0 in the second quarter. Trexler completed 10 of his 14 passing attempts for a total of 128 yards.
The Dons then went down 6-12 to end the half when Benicia recovered a fumble and scored a 74-yard touchdown…but the Dons changed the tempo in the second half and would not let Benicia score again!
Defensive Player of the Game #33 Luke Dafferner shares a moment with #77 Danny Dunne. Dafferner changed the momentum of the entire game in the second half when he intercepted the ball and ran it into the end zone for a 52-yard touchdown putting the Dons ahead 13-12. Dafferner also had 8 tackles (5 solo and 3 asst). Danny Dunne had 6 tackles (1 solo and 5 asst), 5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks! Great game for these two on defense.
#28 Karsten Harmeyer had a great game with 16 rushing yards and 52 receiving yards resulting in multiple first downs for the Dons.
Special Teams Player of the Game #2 Camden Sinha had 8 tackles (3 solos, 5 asst and 1 TFL).
This guy is no stranger to the end zone! Overall Player of the Game #22 Bryce Mansour led the Dons in offensive yards (73 rushing yards and 47 receiving yards) resulting in two touchdowns for the Dons. Mansour also had 3 tackles on defense.
#6 Andrew Iams had 3 tackles and an interception for 27 yards!
That’s #16 Paul Bacon in the end zone with a 7-yard rushing touchdown, putting the Dons ahead 35-12 to end the game. Bacon also had 2 tackles.
Many notable defensive players helped shut down Benicia. #12 Shea Stahl had 6 tackles and 2 sacks for a loss of 17 yards (not to mention 3 successful extra points), and the following players had tackles: #10 Marion Hollister, #11 Anthony Quinn; #14 Caleb Mason; #20 Sam Phillips, #23 Mason Wampler, #25 Connor Harley, # 26 Hayden Sawle, #52 Oliver MacLeod, #55 Cash Ricker and #62 John Nicolini.
