October 2, 2024: Acalanes faced off against the formidable Las Lomas Knights.
Just hours before the game, the heat was on—literally! With temperatures sizzling past 100 degrees, the Dons were sweating bullets waiting for the green light. After what felt like an eternity of nail-biting discussions, the match finally kicked off.
By the end of the first quarter, the Dons were trailing 0-6, but without an epic 5-meter shot block from our sophomore superhero, Fisher Bradford-Urban, things could’ve been a lot worse! In the second quarter, the Dons ignited their engines, with junior Thomas Parrott scoring the first goal, assisted by freshman dynamo Owen Andre, wrapping halftime at 1-9.
Third quarter action? You bet! The Dons unleashed a flurry of 7 shots on goal, but only sophomore Will Miller’s 5-meter beauty found the back of the net. Bradford-Urban was a wall, blocking 4 shots, while senior Justin Rosenblatt and junior Nico Roig showed off their skills with a goal and a slick steal, respectively. Alas, the Knights’ size and experience were just too much to handle, and they galloped away with a 19 to 3 victory. What a match!
