Varsity Football Defeats College Park 63-28 in a Historic Offensive Showcase

The Dons Varsity Football team delivered an unforgettable performance at this year’s Homecoming game, achieving a remarkable victory against College Park. With a perfect blend of offensive firepower and team spirit, Acalanes fans were treated to a night filled with excitement, culminating in a stunning 63-28 win.

Offensive Mastery

The Dons showcased an unprecedented offensive display, racking up over 300 yards in both rushing and passing—an achievement that may very well mark a first in school history. Running back Austin Wampler (#10) led the charge with an astounding 204 rushing yards on just 13 carries, scoring three touchdowns. Coach Floyd said after the game that it was the most rushing yards by an Acalanes running back since he began coaching here.

Deonte Littlejohn (#46), added to the ground attack with 109 rushing yards. The Dons aerial assault was equally impressive, with quarterback Tyler Winkles (#6) completing 13 of 21 passes for 301 yards and three touchdowns.

Notable contributions came from receivers like wide receivers Niko White (#18) and David Gonzales (#1), who each made significant catches that turned the tide in Don’s favor.

Game Highlights

The game was fast-paced, featuring a combined 106 offensive plays and 13 scoring plays, totaling 91 points and nearly 1,200 yards of offense. Despite a rocky start — an early interception leading to College Park jumping to a 14-0 lead — Acalanes roared back, scoring three times in the second quarter, four times in the third, and twice more in the fourth.

Acalanes scored on 9 of its 12 possessions, highlighting their efficiency and resilience. The Don’s defense also shined, holding College Park to a mere six rushing yards and registering three defensive sacks, one of which was pivotal in maintaining their momentum.
