On Saturday, 9/14, the JV Girls spent the day in San Francisco – they played St. Ignatius at the CCSF Pool – a lovely indoor facility. The game was a certified DON-ination from start to finish! NINE of our girls scored goals on way to a 21-5 win.
The first quarter was a score-fest for the Dons, with Erin Lerch, Kylie Kaplan, Sadie Hendrickson Amayel Guiro, Santana Tamayo and Lily Teicher all scoring – Erin, Santana and Sadie scored twice! Sadie Hendrickson had a steal and Lilah Kring had two goal shots during Q1. Lots of activity! Dons up 9-1.
The second quarter continued with the Erin Lerch show – as she scored two more goals, with Ella Schlehr assisting one of those points. Audrey Martin also contributed a goal on a breakaway and a long throw from Mave McAlister during Q2 to bring the halftime score to 12-3.
The second half of the game brought more goals, more assists and more steals! Lily Teicher assisted Jess Gerhardt for a goal (13-3) after which both Lily and Jess notched steals for possession. Lily also assisted Lilah Kring for a goal (14-3). Kylie Kaplan had a steal, followed by an assist to Lilah Kring for her second goal of the game (15-3). St. Ignatius went up for a 5-meter shot, which was BLOCKED by Mave McAlister! Kelsey Gunderson had a steal, and Erin Lerch racked up her 5th goal of the game (16-3)! Goals were traded after this in quick succession, but our notes show the game finished strong with Lily Teicher assisting Jess Gerhardt for her second goal of the game (18-5), and Santana Tamayo assisting Jess for her third goal (19-5)! Ella Schlehr assisted Audrey Martin for her second goal of the game (20-5) and Erin Lerch scored her 6th goal of the game (21-5). Ella Schlehr finished things off with a goal attempt. Way to go DONS!
