The Acalanes swim season is busy and compressed. Acalanes has had 5 meets in a month and a half, plus an invitational in Mission Viejo. The last 3 meets happened in quick succession: Miramonte away on March 30 , Clayton Valley at home on April 12 and then Northgate at home last Wednesday, April 19. The team saw good progress in those meets and swimmers demonstrated a willingness to branch out beyond their comfort zones to compete in a broader range of events.
We will follow up with some stats from those meets, but first a word about UPCOMING INVITATIONALS, THIS WEEK, the finale of our swim season! Please come to show your support and cheer on our swimmers at the following events. The weather looks promising and we expect to see some fast times!
Varsity DAL Invitational Time Trials – Thursday 4/26 (yes that’s today) at Campolindo’s Soda Center starting at 2:30 p.m. and until 5:45 p.m.
Varsity DAL Invitational Finals – Finals will be held at Campo on Saturday 4/28, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. with the 16 top time trials finishers swimming. If you attend you’ll see the top swimmers from our league competing against one another.
DAL Junior Varsity Invitational – Stay after the varsity finals for the JV Invitational at Campolindo High School, Saturday, 4/28 at 1:15 p.m.-4:00 p.m.. The Dons’ JV team is showing a lot of promise with many personal bests and relay wins in the past few weeks too numerous to mention. It will be fascinating to see how this team develops over the next few years. Our JV Dons have heart and are holding their own, so let’s acknowledge that too with a lot of support!
At Senior Night, during the Don’s last home meet of the season, we recognized graduating seniors Sara Archer, Alexa Carter, Kate Carter, Audrey Cox, Grant Eubanks, Christian Gotterup, Catherine Judson, Kaitlyn Keely, Krista Keely, Sophi MacKay, Sarah McCarthy, Sarah Potter, Miguel Strittmatter, Daylor Williams pictured above. This impressive group of swimmers will be dearly missed!
