Varsity beat Liberty in extra innings, 6-5. JV Dons beat Liberty, 8-5…so the Frosh Dons did the same on Saturday. The Dons sweep the Lions this week in baseball.
Game one: The Dons got things moving in the first inning, when Reid Martin singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Tommy Terhar was credited with the victory for the Dons. The righthander allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking zero. Rei Martin threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen with a 4 to 1 victory.
Game 2: The Dons took the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Liberty. The game was tied at three with the Dons batting in the bottom of the sixth when Christian Smario singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Cody Michlitsch led things off on the mound for the Dons. The pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over four innings, striking out seven. Kyle Woodson made his debut on the mound and finished out the game with ‘taking care of business’ for the Blue.
