Acalanes beat College Park making its 7th win in a row!
With a motivated home court, College Park tried it’s best against a well-trained opponent. The first period started out steady for the Dons ending with a 6-point lead. Although there was a bit of bad luck foul trouble at the start of the second period bringing it semi close with 15 to 19 score, Acalanes put the pressure on CP the rest of the period.
Taking a pivot in the second quarter, Gavin Beers had a nice steel tossing it to Arman Craig for high energy 2-point lay-up. Gavin Beers led all scorers with 17 points, while adding 3 blocks, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Acalanes fast defense didn’t give CP a chance and Acalanes pounded them with an awesome shooting average finishing before half time 32 to 18, Acalanes lead. The pressure didn’t stop as Acalanes continued a physical game dominating the court 29 to 44 going into the 4th quarter. Then in the 4th quarter, the Dons made a show of it when Lorenzo Cangini made a sweet pass to Ryder Malm for the slam 2-points. Then Arman Craig made another epic pass to Ryder Malm for a repeat 2-points. It was a strong show for Acalanes as they continue to work well as a team, play disciplined defense and aggressive shooting. Solid play from Grant Ricker, Spencer Clark, Kyler Roberts, Julian Hood, and Sameed Marcos that helped hold the lead down the stretch to victory.
