In the 1st Round of the Nike Tournament of Champions the Lady Dons handled Hamilton out of Chandler, AZ. Hamilton came into the game 11-0 and was regarded as one of the top teams in the state of AZ. After a choppy first few minutes, the Dons full court pressure and speed began to asset itself. The first quarter ended with the Dons up 25 to 7. It was more of the same in the 2ndquarter, as the lead stretched to 51 to 21 at the half. KK Lacanlale exploded for 20 first half points to lead the way. The girls then coasted in the 2nd half to a comfortable victory. KK Lacanlale was the leading scorer with 24 points, Sophie Chinn added 17, Dulci Vail had 10 and Natalie Frechman scored 9.
The girls now move on to the 2nd Round where they face Nationally Ranked Power Centennial out of Las Vegas. This will be a very tough challenge, as Centennial is ranked top 25 in the nation in most polls.
