In the final DAL game of the season, the Lady Dons traveled to Moraga for a cross town showdown vs. bitter rival Campolindo Cougars. Coming into the game, the 18-5 Dons and the 15-8 Cougs were tied for second place in the DAL and vying to lock down a higher seed in the upcoming playoffs.
Under the evening lights and on Senior Night, Campolindo’s two heralded Seniors piled on 8 goals against the Dons in a tough 10-8 loss. The outmatched Dons never had a lead in the game as the Cougs kept one step ahead and matched every Dons counter attack with a score. In head to head match ups, the Cougs lead the series 2-1 with an almost certain chance to meet again in the playoffs.
The Dons were led by their leading scorers Ella Del Rosario (3 goals), Brooklyn Plomp (2 goals), Sara Potter (2 goals) and Sarah Archer (1). Audrey Cox pitched in 10 saves on a busy night in the cage.
Next up… The DAL Playoffs in what should be another opportunity for revenge.
