We woo woo’ed, we yelled, we stomped, we cheered, we jumped up and we high fived; each game is a triumph of the spirit of what a football family really looks like. Whether our boys win or lose – Dons show up! Thursday night the Dons came home on the bus with a V-I- C-T-O-R-Y! We love our Dons!
That’s the great part of Acalanes Football. We are Family!
Our Dons and coaches pour it all out on the field to prevail. Fans pack the stands to support and cheer on the Dons. There’s a genuine love and desire to see the team and players do well. It brings everyone together. It connects us. It gives us a shared sense of pride, camaraderie, and school spirit…this is Dons Football. This is who we are!
Every Dons football player matters. Every position has a valuable role to play. Every person contributes to the team’s success. That’s because in high school football, every single play relies on every single player. This is how we play!
From offense and defense to the Deonte’s uncle yelling louder than Jane to special teams, every family member has a purpose and an assignment to complete. And when they do their job right, each of their teammates can too. This is unity!
When a defensive lineman fills a gap, a linebacker can make a tackle. When a left tackle seals a block, a running back can pick up a first down. When a tight end chips a rushing player, the quarterback has time to make a pass. It’s not about being the best ON the team. It’s about being the best FOR the team. Because the team only reaches its full potential when every player does too.
And This is DONS FOOTBALL!
The Dons were on the road to Livermore High School, home of the Cowboys. It was a warm Thursday night, and the Dons were hot. The quick offense did not give Livermore a chance! Yeehaw Dons!
