The Dons had a spooktaular game on Thursday against the College Park Falcons. It was a harrowing fright for the Falcons when the Dons scored within the first few seconds of the game. The Dons were fangtastic on offense and defense and by Halftime the nail was in the coffin for the Falcons.  But take note, even though the victory came quickly (insert Halloween laugh here) the vampires, zombies and fans were impressed with the Dons sportsmanship showed on the field and respect they gave their unmatched opponent. The Dons were like Casper the friendly ghost, some might say.

Thursday night’s game was fun one to watch and see everyone get playing time.  Pretty bone chilling that Acalanes only possessed the ball for 1 of the 4 quarters…10 minutes (25%) vs 30 (75%) minutes by College Park. The defense was on the field for a long time.  The offensive was very efficient and boo-tiful! Out of 9 Offensive drives, the Don’s offense scored on 6 of them.  It was great to see 3 different QBs get playing time and see the debut of #47 Isaac ‘I put a spell on you’ Copen. The middle LB duo of Amin ‘Your Nightmare’ Norrozi and ‘Bad to the Bone’ Bryce Birdsong were frightfully strong, closing those gaps hard every play (insert coyote howling at the moon here).

There were 9 different Don receivers that were targeted and 6 of them had 1 or more receptions.  It was a very balanced offense with 44% Passing and 56% rushing-and that is very ghoul. The entire defense swarmed the running plays like bats out of hell (insert a loud scream here) which made it difficult to award the tackles to only 2 players.  The reality is they all deserved credit for the group tackles-because that’s how Dons play-like a TEAM! Fear the Blue!
