The Lady Dons traveled to Marin County for their 1st road game of the season, and turned in another stellar performance against the Redwood Giants of Larkspur.
The 1st Qtr was somewhat competitive led by a trio of Senior goal scorers (Sara Potter, Alexa Carter & Maizie O’Hare) and a nifty goal by Jr. Wendy Heffelfinger for a 4-2 first quarter lead.
In the 2nd Qtr, the Dons quickly and decisively cut down the Redwood Giants….. TIMBER, thar she goes….!!!! Sr. Sara Archer turned in a lumber jack performance with 2 goals in the period. Freshman Ella Del Rosario, doing her best impersonation of a human chainsaw, exploded for 5 goals in the quarter (7 goals & 4 steals for the game) and was relentless on both sides of the pool! Single handedly leading the Dons to a 12-2 lead at the half.
Jr. transfer student, Brooklyn Plomp devoured the Redwoods like a Mountain Pine Beetle (Canadian tree killer) and an all-around tremendous performance, 1 goal, 4 assists and 5 steals!
Maize O’Hare was a fellow forestry beast herself, turning in a 3 goal performance en route to a commanding 18-4 win.
Next up… Come out to the Acalanes Invitational, Friday 9/9 @ Noon, and celebrate with the entire Acalanes Student Body cheering on game 1 of the Acalanes Invitational Tournament.
