On a windy afternoon at Souza Field, the JV baseball Dons hit on all cylinders, scoring 15 runs on offense and holding the Miramonte Matadors to just 3. The Dons’ pitching has been consistent, if not spectacular, this season. Mason Zirkel, Jake Boselli, and Jack Giorgianni combined to allow zero earned runs, while striking out 8 and walking just 1 Mat. With a team ERA of 1.28 on 120 innings pitched, the future is certainly bright for Dons pitching. With the bats, the Dons went 16-32 as a team, with big days from Keegan Goddard (3-5, RBI), Sully Bailey (2-4, 3RBI), Jake Boselli (2-3, 2RBI), Brady Quinn (2-4, RBI) and Henry Garbo (1-1, 2RBI).
The 14-1-2 Dons now get a break until a tough finish to the schedule, starting Tuesday at home against Campolindo. After 2 games against the Cougs, the Dons face Benicia and Clayton Valley twice each to finish the campaign.
