The JV boys continued their great early season success with straight-set victories over Monte Vista, Northgate, and De Anza after enduring their first loss of the season to rival Campo in a thrilling three-set match. The Dons continued to deliver outstanding serves from a variety of players and backed it up with solid all-around play to cruise to the three consecutive victories. Highlights are shown below in photos. Last Friday, the Dons came back strong in Game 2 against De Anza with a 25-15 win, but dropped the third set to take their second loss.
Over the weekend, the Dons played in the Las Lomas JV tournament. The boys started off strong with straight-set victories over College Park and Freedom before losing to Deer Valley in three sets. However, the Dons bounced back to whip Las Lomas in straight-sets then beat Deer Valley decisively in the championship match!
The Dons continue to get contributions from many players. Outside hitters Griffin Ruebner and Maddox Malm have been delivering big hits at the net. Matthew Jabbour has done a nice job stepping in at libero while Joe Colachico, Evan Sverak, and Braedon Christie have been effective at middle blocker. Tommy Terrien and Matthew Law also have continued their fine all-around play and booming serves, while Miles Thomas continues to set up his teammates for winning shots.
