Boys Varsity Tennis Team Goes Down Swinging to Miramonte 1-8

The Boys’ Varsity tennis team faced an extremely solid Miramonte squad on Thursday.  Though we lost overall 1-8, many of the scores reflect some very tough battles.  The boys did not go down without a respectable fight.  Our one standout match was the #2 doubles line, which was an impressive victory by Matthew Muren and Aaron Brown.  They both served, returned, and volleyed exceptionally and deserved this hard-fought win.

Nick Owens played a great match in the #1 spot – reaching out for a backhand volley

In DAL league play, Acalanes remains mid-pack after falling to 2-3.  Next week, we hopefully remove all players from the injured reserve list and finish the second half of the season with a full and healthy bench.  As a reminder, we will be away at Northgate on March 29 (Tues) and away at College Park on March 31 (Thurs).  There are no matches scheduled for the following two weeks, and the boys will be on spring break the week of April 4.
At the matches, I am enjoying all of the conversations with the families of the boys.  If you get to the match on Tuesday and cannot find the Acalanes parents, just look for the bright pink shirt being worn by Tucker Brewer’s grandfather!  Go Dons!
