After a successful trip to Marin County, the JV Baseball Dons had the first regular season home game against Saint Pat’s. As baseball games go, this one was the exact opposite of a nail-biter. The Dons were simply a much stronger team, and dominated on both sides of the ball. The Dons sent 9 batters to the plate in the 1st, then did it again in the 2nd, building up an 8-run lead, and cruised for the remaining three innings (the game was called early as it was getting late, and the outcome was beyond doubt). Jack Giorgianni (pictured above) and Sully Bailey pitched a combined no-hitter shutout, with Jack going 4 innings and striking out 8, and Sully adding one more inning and 2 Ks. They were backed up by a stout defense that committed no errors. The Dons scored 12 runs on 10 hits, with the offense spread evenly through the lineup, with 9 Dons scoring and 9 getting base hits. James Stadt led the field with 2 H, Sully and Keegan Goddard had 2 R apiece. This was a comfortable win, and we can all hope that the Dons will carry the early season momentum forward.
