The JV Lady Dons opened up league play with an exciting back-and-forth match with East Bay rival, Miramonte. The Matadors dominated most of the first half, but Freshman Erica “RiRi” McBroom who played her first game of the season (due to a knee injury) put on a shooting clinic and brought the Dons to within 3. The halftime score was 28-25. The Dons found their groove in the second half by keeping the score tight with good defense and renewed energy. The game went down to the wire, but the Dons prevailed winning 45-44. RiRi lead the team with 16 points and Freshman Robin Parmelee contributed 10 points. The JV Dons travel to take on Northgate this Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
