The Lady Dons suffered their first loss of the season to the highly regarded Saint Ignatius Wildcats in the semifinals of the Marin Catholic Invitational by a score of 61 to 41. Coming into the game the Wildcats were state ranked and regarded as one of the top teams in Northern California. The Dons fell behind early and fought hard to keep pace, but the effort wasn’t enough. The Wildcats had superior talent and a seasoned group versus the youth of the Dons. All in all it this game should provide a valuable experience for the season ahead. Karyss Lacanlale led the Dons with 15 points and handled SI’s full court pressure very well. Sophie Chinn added 8, Dulci Vail had 5 and Natalie Lyons chipped in 4 points. The girls play for 3rd place of the tournament today at 4:30 versus a solid Menlo squad.
