Acalanes opened the Dougherty Valley High School Winter Classic Basketball Tournament Tuesday morning in San Ramon with a 51-40 loss to Foothill. Joe Reidenbach led the Dons with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Ian Salmon added 8 points and Jaden McClane chipped in with 6 points and 7 rebounds. Liam Gallacher, JB Frolich, and Cooper Edelman also got on the scoreboard for the Dons.

In their last game before the holidays, Acalanes JV boys took Amador Valley to overtime before falling short 68-80. It was a breakout game for forward Cooper Edelman, who led the Dons with 20 points, scoring from all angles in the paint, and contributing half his points when it mattered most in the 4th quarter and overtime. Ian Salmon was the other Don to score in double figures, with 13 points.
