Fans returning to sporting events, this week for scrimmage games for Fall Sports is a huge boost to morale for the players and even parents & fans. With the unique experiment of play in small crowds (just mom, dad & siblings in the spring sports), we now have an opportunity to know what difference a crowd makes to our teams and our Dons Community.
All the Football Dons are excited for ‘Lafayette Night Lights’. Some of the players have shared ‘When we have a lot of fans there, and they’re loud – it builds us up and really gets us going in the game. People always ask if we can actually hear the fans during the game and the answer is yes you can, and it makes a big, big difference. If someone puts in a good tackle or good run and they’re all cheering, it gets everyone going and really pushes us on as players, and I think it’s going to be massive on Friday for the fans to make sure they’re behind us 100 per cent, as always.’
Parents, students and community fans share a mutually excitement in supporting the Dons. Together we applaud the Dons persistence, tenacity, preparation and hard work. Don fans love this feeling because We Are Family. From the classroom to bleachers to the huddle, there is nothing like the encouragement and camaraderie of the Acalanes football family. Players and coaches pour it all out on the field. Fans pack the stands to support and cheer on the Dons. There is a genuine love and desire to see the team and players do well because We Are Family!
Here are the upcoming HOME GAMES (Friday. 7pm) with Varsity Game Theme Nights. These special theme nights are organized by the Acalanes Student Body and Class Leaders. We are grateful for their support for our football support and building our community of kindness with a big splash of fun. Go all out or just wear your Dons hat, shirt and smile…Most important thing is you being there and enjoying the magic of Lafayette Night Lights!
