Hello Acalanes Football Fans, and welcome to the 2021 Fall Football Season that officially kicks off this week. We are all looking forward to a more normal High School Football season this year after a short six-game Spring Season earlier in 2021. All teams (Frosh/JV/Varsity) kicked off the season with scrimmages on Saturday and we look to have three strong teams competing this year.
Even though life during the pandemic has been extremely trying for numerous reasons, one of the more interesting opportunities that arose from the shortened and limited Spring was Live-Streaming games. We were able to Live-Stream all of the home football games on Sportscope Live for viewing anywhere fans have an internet connection. Family and friends around the country could follow our Acalanes Football teams, even if they lived too far away to come to cheer our Dons on in person.
This Fall we will continue to Live-Stream as many games as possible provided we have enough volunteers to make the service available. We’ll kick off the first Live Streaming game this Wednesday with the Frosh team taking on Amador Valley at 5:30p. To view the live stream, simply go to sportscopelive.com and type Acalanes in the search box (see graphic). Once you get to the Acalanes schedule, the next game will show up in the large graphic box on the left. When the game is available, you simply click the box and the game will start streaming. The cost is $5 per game to cover the streaming service.
Reach out now to distant family and friends so they can watch our Dons from the comfort of their own homes, wherever they are located, which gives even greater meaning to the phrase “Don’s Nation”. Go Dons!
